Image of burnt out carAnti Social Behaviour: Below is a brief explanation of what the actions are:

Injunctions

An injunction is a Court Order that requires a person a specific act, or acts, to stop doing a specific act, or acts.   On Notice meaning we give notice to the perpetrator that this will be served, without notice being with no notification before serving.  We also record if any has breached or broken the terms of this injunction order.

Notices

Nsp – Notice Seeking Possession.  This informs the tenant we are going to take legal action to seek possession of their tenancy after a specified date.
Nsd – Notice Seeking Demotion.  This informs the tenant we are going to take legal action to seek demotion of their tenancy.  This is used to lower tenure rights to starter tenancies.
NRP- Notice Requiring Possession.  This is used for starter tenancies and allows use gain possession of the property.
Suspended Possession Order
We suspend the tenant’s right to buy the property

Outright Possession Order

We gain outright possession of the tenancy

ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order)

Civil court order that aims to prevent the person causing the nuisance continuing with or being involved in any acts of Anti-Social Behaviour.  It may be possible to exclude a person from a particular area.  Breach of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order is a criminal offence and could carry a custodial sentence.

ABC (Acceptable Behaviour Contract)

A contract between Arena Housing Association and a tenant to prevent the tenant causing or continuing to cause acts of Anti-Social Behaviour.  This is not legally binding, but will be signed by a third party who will be an authority figure i.e. Police.

Tenancy Demotion Application

An application to the courts for Arena to down grade tenants who have assured or secure tenancies to Starter tenancy status.  This means the tenant will lose security of tenure.

Starter Tenancies

With Starter tenancies, Arena can end the tenancy if involved in Anti-Social Behaviour.  Tenants are permitted to appeal this decision to the board, which can be upheld or overturned. 

Court Undertakings
This is a solemn promise made to the courts, and if breached can the party can be held in contempt of court.
