Faulkner Court is a warden-controlled sheltered scheme for the elderly in the heart of Manchester's Chinatown. When it was opened in 1989, it was the first Chinese sheltered housing scheme in the UK, and was specially designed for the needs of the Chinese elderly. Faulkner Court has 32 one bedroom flats of which 17 are for single people, 14 for couples and a specially designed and adapted flat for a wheelchair user. It also has an office for the mobile warden. The scheme has a communal lounge and kitchen, a laundry and a guest bedroom. Roby Court was opened in 1998 and is owned by Tung Sing.
